This is a Free tool to convert CSV files from Paypal, eBay or Bank Institution into QIF files for Microsoft Money or Quicken. csvtoqif.gginternational.net
@horusofoz I never thought about making this tool Open Source, but will think about it. Meanwhile I will keep the service Free, providing some extras that will involve some costs in case the user decides to use. We do not keep any information from the CSV files upload to the server. These temporary files are deleted as soon as the session is finished.
No problem, and I agree with your sentiments about trusting nobody – too many bad people out there I am using an Excel macro to do this, but thanks for your considerations here.
Hi, thanks for your message,
About my tool, I made it for my own use and then decided to share with the public, so I could help more people.
When someone uploads a file, it is removed as soon as the user leaves the website.
About making an application being more secure, I cannot agree, as anyone can make an application that does something good for you but will scan your computer and steal your private information without you noticing.
The best practice is never trust anyone on the internet.
You seem to be a genuine guy offering a free online utility to help convert from csv to qif to overcome the limitations of Microsoft Money. However it appears everyone who uses this would have all their account information they want converted posted up to your website in the clear! This seems a very dangerous thing to do. Why do you not offer the utility for download to be used on locally on the user’d pc?
